Swimming Lessons

Our mission is to build trust between instructors, parents, and swimmers while teaching water safety in a calm, supportive environment. Through well-planned swim lessons and a respectful approach to the water, swimmers gain the skills and confidence to progress at their own pace.

About our Swim Program

At Aspire, our swim program is built on one essential foundation: teaching life-saving water safety skills from an early age. We focus on helping children become confident and capable in the water—whether it’s learning to swim to the wall and climb out, float on their back, or begin freestyle stroke techniques.

Through engaging lessons, kids also practice picking up rings from the bottom, learning key safety habits, and building comfort in and around water.

But it’s more than just skills—we foster a genuine love for swimming that supports healthy development and builds lasting confidence.

As swimmers progress through the program, they are introduced to all four competitive strokes, taught in order of difficulty, along with racing dives. While not every child may choose to compete, we encourage every swimmer to move through the levels to deepen their understanding of the sport and their personal growth in the water.

We also work closely with parents, helping them feel informed and confident when it comes to their child’s water safety—because peace of mind is just as important as progress.

Swimming Lessons We Offer

At Aspire, we begin introducing children to the water as early as 4 months old. These early experiences help foster comfort and confidence in the water, setting the stage for teaching essential life-saving skills—like swimming back to the wall and climbing out safely.

Swimmers Ages 2 & Under: Swim Diaper Policy
To ensure a clean and safe swim environment, all swimmers 2 years old and under are required to wear reusable swim diapers—disposable swim diapers are not permitted.

We highly recommend iPlay® reusable swim diapers, which provide a snug fit around the waist and legs to help prevent accidents. These are available for purchase at Aspire’s Pro Shop for your convenience.

Your cooperation helps keep our pool clean, open, and enjoyable for everyone.

Baby Otters is a gentle, interactive swim class designed to introduce infants to the water in a safe, supportive, and playful environment—with a parent right by their side. Offered free with a paid annual membership, this class is the perfect way to begin building your child’s comfort, trust, and confidence in the water from an early age.

Our primary goal is to teach life-saving water safety skills, including how to swim back to the wall and climb out. By developing this trust early—with the water, the parent, and the instructor—children are better prepared to learn and thrive as they continue their swimming journey.

Seahorses focuses on building comfort and safety in the water for both swimmers and parents. Instructors introduce essential water safety routines and explain foundational swim skills. They also guide parents through supported submersions, back floating, water movement, and breath control, helping young swimmers gain confidence and ease in the water.

Starfish is a parent-free swim experience where instructors focus on building water safety and swim readiness through fun and engaging lessons. Swimmers work on breath control, fine and gross motor skills, and overall pool awareness. Instructors introduce key skill sets, guide students through a safety routine, and use songs and play to make learning both safe and enjoyable.

Guppies is ideal for beginner swimmers who are ready to stand independently in the water without parental assistance. No prior swim experience is required. In this class, instructors focus on water safety while introducing foundational skills in freestyle and backstroke. Just as importantly, they help each child build confidence by working through fears and doubts in a supportive and encouraging environment.

Stingrays is designed for intermediate swimmers who can confidently swim freestyle and backstroke across the width of the pool without assistance. Instructors focus on refining stroke technique, introducing side breathing, and building endurance. Students will also begin learning the fundamentals of breaststroke and butterfly as they continue progressing through more advanced swim skills.

Dolphins is for intermediate swimmers who can demonstrate proper freestyle and backstroke technique and have a basic understanding of breaststroke and butterfly. Instructors focus on breaking down the mechanics of breaststroke and butterfly to improve form and coordination, while also continuing to build endurance in freestyle and backstroke.

Sharks is designed for advanced swimmers who have mastered all four basic strokes. This level focuses on building speed, strength, and endurance in the water. Instructors introduce flip turns and begin refining competitive techniques. For swimmers interested in joining a swim team, this class serves as an excellent introduction or refresher.

After we receive your registration, we’ll send you a welcome letter by email, which will explain everything you need to know for your first class. In the meantime, here’s some important information to help you get started.
Weekly Classes: On your first day, there’s no need to check in, just stay with your child until they are called into class. Then stop by the front desk at any time during class to pick up your welcome packet.

Small items like shoes and socks can be placed in the lobby cubbies. Please note: Aspire is not responsible for lost items, so we recommend leaving valuables at home. Water bottles are encouraged and can be taken into class.

For children aged 5 and under, a parent must remain in the viewing area or stay with their child if enrolled in a Parent & Tot class. Please note: a signed waiver is required for parents participating in the Parent & Tot class. For children aged 6 and older, parents may leave and return before the class ends or choose to stay and watch from one of our viewing areas.

Free Baby Classes: Students who miss two consecutive weeks of a free class may be removed from the class. Exceptions can be made upon request if the class does not have a waiting list; otherwise, you may request to be added to the waiting list and will be notified when a spot becomes available. Please note: make‑ups for free classes are not offered.
Weekly Classes: Notification of an absence is not required for weekly classes. However, if you miss a class, a make‑up may be scheduled within 30 days of the absence. Make‑ups are not offered for holiday closures, as no class was missed. You may register for a make‑up in any weekly class that is appropriate for your child’s age and skill level, as long as there is an available spot. Make‑up classes can be scheduled up to one day in advance, or you may choose to register for an open gym at any time. If you cannot attend a scheduled make‑up, it must be cancelled before the start of the class. If not, the make‑up will be considered used and cannot be rescheduled.

To withdraw from a class, notify the front desk at least 30 days before the child’s last day. No advanced notice is required to transfer to another weekly class.

It’s completely normal for children to feel overwhelmed or emotional during their first class. This is a new environment, and it may take time for them to feel comfortable. Our instructors are experienced in helping children adjust and will gently guide them as they begin to learn the class routine.

Every child is different. Some children adapt quickly, while others may need a few weeks to settle in. Our team is here to support your child through the transition and help them build confidence at their own pace.

We understand that starting a gymnastics class can bring up big emotions. Our staff is trained to work with children who are new to this experience, and we are committed to helping them feel safe and supported. In most cases, it’s best to let our instructors comfort and guide your child, allowing them to adjust gradually and gain independence.
